From the article:
On March 26, 2015, I was driving to work on my motorcycle. It was a fairly typical commute, full of cagers cutting me off, merging into me and generally just not paying close enough attention. As I was filtering up to the front of a light, I noticed one particular man in a black BMW convertible. He was very busy texting and talking away on his mobile phone. He became visibly angry when I yelled at him to put down his cell phone while he was in his car. Even after he honked at me, much to my surprise, I kept my cool... I didn’t flip him off or get into his face, however much I wanted to. Once the light turned green, I proceeded through the intersection, making my turn. Behind me, the BMW driver came flying up behind me very aggressively. After a couple of blocks, he pulled into the center lane to my left and, once he was parallel with me, swerved his car into my lane, knocking both my bike and myself to the ground. Without slowing, the driver took off down the road.
Aside from a significant amount of bumps and bruises, I suffered a severe concussion (bad enough for me to forget what day, month and year it was and knocking all memory of the past week out of my head), two hairline fractures in my left shoulder and a broken left foot (which would require surgery).
Because the driver is currently under criminal investigation, I will be unable to go after him or his insurance. for any sort of compensation for quite a while. Additionally, the insurance on the car (which was not owned by the driver) only has a very small amount of coverage for medical and property damage. All of this money has been swallowed up in one quick swoop by my significant amount of bills. I’m left still having to pay several thousand dollars for my health insurance’s out of pocket maximum. Additionally, I’m left with several bills associated with purchasing medical equipment (crutches, shower seat, etc.) and transportation (car rental, Lyft rides). My credit cards are close to full-up and these bills will be coming due very soon.

I’ll be that guy.
BMW was stopped when the biker swore at him to get of his phone. Biker then pulls in front of BMW for honking and sits too long at the green light. Biker also slows and revs bike in front of BMW.
BMW driver is a douche, but biker is a still a douche too.

I don’t think the biker was getting in the way or driving slowly. He’s keeping pace with the cars in front.

While I can’t defend the guy in the car because in the end he was the bigger asshat, I can’t defend the asshat on the bike either. No need to be rude to other drivers, especially since he is sitting at a light. Then the biker is notably driving erratically in front of him. Bad attitudes get bad attitudes in response - Fact.

Does somebody being a douche warrant you trying to kill them? If somebody calls me a rude asshole that doesn’t give me the right to pull a gun and shoot them. Even if the guy was just trying to scare him by swerving, that would still be like me shooting the bullet next to your head to send you a message but accidentally hitting you in the face.

Check out his Instagram
Check out his
donation page
There are photos of injuries in his Instagram, and he’s wearing a boot in some of the other images. I’m willing to believe that he actually fell off a motorcycle. However.....
The accident happened over two months ago.
Jeep and accessories purchased within the last two weeks
The donation page was set up five days ago (with 90 days remaining).
For someone who’s hurting for money, I would put off buying off-road accessories for the time being.
Draw your own conclusion.

Now - back to the video.....
In most of these videos I see, these kinds of accidents can easily be prevented if the guy that has more to lose (bike) lets the other guy around and keeps them in front of them. I like my crazies in front of me so I can see what they’re doing.

From the biker himself “ After a couple of blocks ….”
Why would you block a car? “Cagers” have cages, you don't.

Obviously not. Whoever throws the first punch gets charged for assault, just don’t be surprised when you provoke someone.

I assume “blocks” refers to a distance, not an action. I.e. city blocks.

They didn’t even make it a whole block in the video, I guess I should of included more context in my quote.
“Behind me, the BMW driver came flying up behind me very aggressively. After a couple of blocks, he pulled into the center lane to my left...”

Oh, I couldn’t watch the video, and going by the description I thought he meant distance. That’s a lack of self preservation there.

Telling a person to get off the phone, staying in the lane, does not equal hitting a person with your car and fleeing

swearing at someone does not give a driver a right to hit them with their fucking car.

couple hundred in jeep accessories I’m sure is minor compared to hospital bills. As for the crazies I prefer to avoid them by twisting the throttle and getting a few cars in front of them.
“he fell off the motorcycle”. How do you argue a person fell off when there’s video of a car hitting you??

I don’t like seeing that kind of behavior when when people are asking for handouts.

I’m not arguing anything. I agree that the BMW caused it. However, no matter what caused it, he fell off.

“lack of self preservation” is a great way to say that.

try reading my reply next time.
The guy is on a bike, apparently he doesn’t realize how dangerous cars can be to him. Intentional or not. He’s an offensive driver when he should be more defensive. I think once the biker has recovered he needs to take some defensive driving courses(mandatory). The car owner should get some jail time for hitting him, but they are both idiots.

Clearly …. but there is clearly a “lack of self preservation” by the biker when he decided to block the BMW a couple of times.
Maybe I should of said “BMW driver is a huge douche, but the biker is a still a slight douche.”

I once had a similar experience in Chicago. My wife and I were walking across Halstead in Greektown, and a car pulled up completely blocking the cross walk. His windows were down so when I walked by I tapped his roof and said “you’re blocking the cross walk” and continued on. The best we can figure is he was on a date and I embarrassed him in front of his girl, because the amount of threats and posturing that proceeded to come out of this person was amazing. We just kept walking, and he of course never got out of his car, but I’m glad I wasn’t on the road with this individual

For all anyone knows those parts were purchased before he was hit, or he just didn’t take pictures before hand.

When you are on a bike and 3500 pounds of metal hit you, you don’t “fall off” you are pushed off. Falling off implies it was an accident on the biker.

From the video doesn’t look like the biker is blocking much of him at all. In fact the biker is gaining on the traffic ahead of him and no one is passing him on the right, implying he is going as fast, or faster than the flow of traffic except for the BMW driver

But the biker said he was blocking and all of the looking back/revving. NOT a reason to hit someone, but as we see here, BMW drivers don't like being out-douched.

Definitely not joking, they didn’t even cross one street. Through the intersection @0:23 then on the ground @ 0:36.

I think alleyways divide blocks, too. To me, it looks like they traveled at least two.
